Some warm up sketches today before continuing the project. Really wanted to focus on action lines.

Here are concepts pages I have done during this week, most of them are pages I have re worked to create a more interesting visual story.

Had a rough start with this week, my car broke down and threw my whole week off. And so it through off my art. So here’s some of what I got sketched out, and shortly I’ll share the other pages of the comic I have done as well.

Been busy doing sketches, reading comic books and practice with photoshop. To the point where I completely forgot about this site. So here are a few sketches to share, from character design to page thumbnails.

Testing out customizing bushes. Here I’m trying to mimic chalk pastels. Though it looks cool and good for practice, its not a brush I want to use in my current project.

Went to the Oregon Zoo in Portland to do some life drawings of the animals. Little sad that I couldn’t get a good view of the lions and tigers, and that the wild dogs weren’t out. But I had some fun times sketching the cheetahs and polar bears!

In addition to watching videos on Digital tutors, I began working on alligators! Although my current project won’t see too many of them, but the universe I have established for my story do have a lot of them.

Having finished story-boarding the first 8 pages of my graphic novel, I decided to slow down and test out the eye flow. The concept is to layout the comic page in a way to direct the viewer’s eyes as the read, so they don’t get lost in the art. There are subtle queues that help

I love the concept art for Kung Fu Panda! The flow, the movement, and how the eyes follow the figure as a whole! Needless to say I’m inspired by this work, so I did some tracing of the work in hopes to better my own style for my project.
